Conny Frischauf is a sound and visual artist based in Vienna, Austria. Their work spans various forms/media, including recordings, performances, installations, texts, and sculptures. Experimentally exploring exclusionary politics of language and narration Conny is interested in decentralized forms of relationship, encounter, and resistance.

They studied transdisciplinary arts at the University of Applied Arts Vienna, regularly perform, sound, conduct workshops and lectures, repair and build audio equipment, score films and performances, exhibit, host, listen, and walk.

Connys latest discography includes Kenne Keine Töne (LP, 2024), Die Drift (LP, 2021), Affekt & Tradition (EP, 2019), Effekt & Emotion (EP, 2018) as well as contributions to releases by Flee Project or Strangelove amongst others.

Recent artistic research centers on waterbodies as places of connection, boundaries, and ecological importance. Through a mix of fieldwork, archival and listening practices, Conny explores the relationship between waters, national borders and cultural narratives, as well as transnational collaborations in environmental protection.

Since 2024, they have been running Sedimente, a platform that slowly inter-layers through text, sound, space, and more.
